Green Beans with Minced Beef


This dish is very easy to prepare, and only needs soy sauce for seasoning and makes use of wonderful ingredients like ginger, garlic and leeks. It is a great dish that can be rustled up quickly and is best served with white rice.

 

Ingredients | Serves 4

  •  500g green beans 

  • 40g leek 

  • 15g fresh ginger, peeled 

  • 8g garlic cloves 

  • Sunflower or vegetable oil - for frying

  • 200g minced beef 

  • 30-45ml soy sauce 

  • Sliced fresh red chillies - to taste

  • Sesame oil - to taste

Method

  1. Prepare the green beans, lightly cook in boiling water for 3 minutes, then rinse under cold running water. Drain the beans and, pat-dry and cut diagonally into easy-to-eat pieces.


  2. Finely chop the leek, ginger and garlic.  Put a little oil in the frying pan over high heat. Add the chopped leek, ginger and garlic, allowing the flavours to infuse with the oil, then add the minced beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through. 


  3. Add the green beans, then soy sauce and red chilli to taste. Continue to cook until the beans have heated through. Add a little sesame oil to taste and serve with hot white rice.
